Farmer's market opens in May

DAYTON - The Farmer's Market at Shiloh will open in time for Mother's Day. The market is at the corner of North Main Street and Philadelphia Drive in the parking lot of Shiloh Church.

Hours of operation will be 7 a.m. to noon Saturdays from May 12 through Oct. 20.

The Farmers Market at Shiloh will feature flowering planters, hanging baskets, bedding plants, annuals, perennials, apples, cider, baked goods and meat products.

June will bring more farmers with fresh, locally grown produce. For more information, call Marsha at (937) 890-1955.

 

Annual plant sale to benefit charity

RIVERSIDE - Make your purchases of trees, shrubs or perennials and benefit multiple nonprofit Christian organizations, such as the House of Bread and Good Shepherd Ministries. The plant sale will be from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. May 10-12 and May 17-19 at 4730 Sheller Ave., off Spinning Road between Linden Avenue and Col. Glenn Highway/Airway roads.

Krayon Kollege registration begins

CENTERVILLE - Register now for the fall preschool classes at Fairhaven Church, 637 E. Whipp Road. Morning and afternoon classes for 4- to 5-year-olds and morning only for 3- to 4-year-olds are available. The 4-to-5 classes are three days a week, and the cost is $125 per month. The 3-to-4 classes are two days a week, with a cost of $83 per month.

Ebenezer Baptist Church events

COLUMBUS - At 6:30 p.m. every Tuesday, Extended Knowledge of the Word, a Bible study class, is taught by Evangelist Dorretha Hairsten in the sanctuary of the Ebenezer Baptist Church.

Every Wednesday, Ebenezer, hosts a mid-week prayer at 12:30 p.m. Prayer meetings also begin at 7 p.m., followed by Bible study, at 8, taught by Bishop Michael A. Dickerson.

The Youth Department meets at 4 p.m. every third Saturday. The Food Pantry is open to those in need of food assistance from 9 a.m. to noon the last two Saturdays of each month.

 

Legacy Village OKs ground-breaking

XENIA Ground-breaking for The Legacy Village, located on The Legacy Center campus, will be in June. The Legacy Village Board of Trustees and LMI Board of Directors recently approved a plan to fund Phase I. The goal of the Village is to enable cross-generational mentoring and ministry spanning ages from children to senior adults, and to enhance transgenerational relationships, which face more challenges in modern culture.

The Legacy Village will comprise a community of 60 one-story homes specifically designed for senior independent living. Plans also include 22 on-site assisted living apartments. Construction is scheduled to begin in June, with models completed by early fall.

Conference on trauma, sexuality

INDIANAPOLIS The third annual Trauma and Sexuality Conference, an equipping and healing event, will be at 9 a.m. Saturday, July 14 at Indian Creek Christian Church, 6430 S. Franklin Road, Indianapolis. The event is sponsored by the Indiana Family Institute, Hope and New Life Ministries, Indian Creek Christian Church and Berean Christian Stores.

Featured speakers include Joe Dallas, one of the leading authorities in addressing the complex spiritual dynamics of sexual brokenness. His outstanding books Desires in Conflict and A Strong Delusion are essential components in the Christian recovery movement. Dallas is a former president of Exodus International, the umbrella group for ex-gay ministries, and is founder of Genesis Counseling.
