Citizens Media Group, Inc. (CMG Inc.) was founded by Pendra Lee Snyder and her husband Rick to provide corporate framework to facilitate their vision of producing quality media products that honor God. The main product is the Citizen USA newspaper (www.citizenusa.us), a regional, general interest newspaper that reports news and information from a Judeo-Christian worldview. CMG Inc.'s goal is to expand nationally with anchor editions in major markets across the nation. In addition, CMG Inc. serves ministries and businesses in marketing and public relations.
Prior to CMG Inc., Pendra Lee was a radio and television reporter/anchor, and TV magazine co-host. She also produced a documentary in Munich on the 175 th Oktoberfest, which was marketed by an international tourism video company.
During her career she has interviewed/and or questioned four presidents; Gerald Ford, Jimmy Carter, George Bush and George W. Bush. Indiana basketball coach Bobbie Knight told her following an interview, “You ask pretty good questions for a girl!” She has interviewed Dr. Bill Bright and Dr. D. James Kennedy.
Pendra Lee graduated from Indiana State University with a Bachelors degree in music education and Masters in television production. She lives in Dayton, Ohio, with husband Rick and 15-year-old twin daughters, Briana and Chrysanthi.
Throughout high school and college she was involved in pageants including the Indianapolis 500 Pageant and Miss Indiana for Miss America, allowing her to gain poise and public speaking confidence. She was also a violinist with the Terre Haute Symphony and currently plays her violin with the worship orchestra at her church, Fairhaven Christian Missionary Alliance.
Pendra Lee volunteers her media services to promote her church and its ministries in the community. Along with her husband, they helped promote and coordinate March for Jesus, having as many as 8000 marchers through the streets of Dayton; the Jesus Video Project, raising close to one-million dollars in a record time to mail 500,000 Jesus videos to the greater Dayton area; and facilitated the Dayton Prayer Breakfast inviting Dr. Tony Evans, Wellington Boone, Adolph Coors the IV, and Shirley Dobson, among others. She is also on the board of Pro-Family Network, an organization that lobbies state lawmakers for pro-family legislation.
Several years ago I asked God what I was supposed to be doing for Him. God spoke deep into my spirit and said that I am a “connector.” It later dawned on me that what I had been doing was connecting people, for example, with a particular gift with a person or organization that needed that gift. It was a more refined type of networking. I believe the vision and mission of the Pinnacle Forum is the next level of connecting and networking as God is closing in His remnant for these days ahead. As a media person, I believe communication among the network and from the network to the culture is key to fulfilling His purpose. I simply desire to offer my talents and gifts back to Him and be among people of like vision.
The negative influence the godless media has had on our culture. We must re-establish the foundational principles upon which this country was established. The liberal left has infiltrated the universities and the media. We are making progress with Christian colleges and radio and TV. But it is the print media has historically built, then tore down this nation. We've seen the folly and fall from “grace “ of the New York Times. It was only a matter of time when that once great newspaper founded by a Bible believing Presbyterian would fall victim to its own liberal and lying advocacy journalism.
Rather than us trying to infiltrate the existing print journalism industry, we need to parallel the industry with rigorous, righteous reporting of the facts from a Judeo-Christian worldview.
God is leading me to transform today's culture by informing and educating through the print media. For example, in our city, a lesbian city commissioner brought forth an “anti-discrimination” ordinance, which would provide special rights for homosexual behavior. Our Christian newspaper went to work reporting on the issue. Our Christian mayor utilized our coverage in garnering the support of the pastors of our community. The ordinance was defeated. I received a call from the assistant to the democrat congressman. He said, “While I was for the ordinance, I just want to congratulate you on you newspaper's coverage. I found out more about the issue from your paper than I did any other media in town (including the local daily newspaper).” That is just one of many examples how a newspaper in the hands of the people on the streets of America can turn the course of events.
